Hyper-V

Den senaste produkten för server virtualisering från Microsoft heter Hyper-V. Hyper-V är en hypervisor-baserad teknik och skiljer sig från Virtual Server i arkitektorisk uppbyggnad. Hyper-V finns tillgänglig som en serverroll när man installerar Windows Server 2008 full installation, Windows Server 2008 i server core installation eller som stand-alone. Hyper-V kostar inget extra utan finns tillgängligt när man köpt Windows Server 2008, eller så väljer man att köpa enbart Hyper-V, utan serveroperativsystemet.
